Saturday finds, reads. and everything in between - Season 1 Vol. 3

Currently it’s Friday early evening as I am typing this. Gosh this week has flown by, I think my allergies had something to do with it. They are bad - I lost my voice, my eyes are so watery and itchy. Anyways, I think they are getting better. It rained all morning and it’s been gloomy here in Texas. What a thrill! I can only handle so many days of showers and no sun. Good thing the sun comes out tomorrow, tomorrow. ;) Saturday that is.

Let’s get to this week’s finds…..

LISTEN

There’s a few actually a few this week…..

  1. Gloss Angeles - Which product is the biggest source of waste + sustainable beauty tips Pacifica’s Brook Harvey-Taylor - this is a great episode if you want to learn a bit more about Pacifica and how the brand started, I love a good story. Brook talks about recycling products, how it’s a luxury being lazy, and how some companies are greenwashing sustainability.

WATCH

  1. Olsen Twins: The Tragic Life of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen - Y’all I love the Olsen twins!!! I follow many instagram accounts dedicated to them. I grew up buying their products from Wal-mart, Ive seen all their movies. My fave is Holiday in the Sun and When in Rome. I have them on DVD. Ha. I know! However, I have just loved their mysteriousness for some reason. I was always intrigued but their sense of fashion, which doesn’t surprise me that they went into fashion and are highly respected for their line The Row. Anyways, this popped up on my YouTube home page so of course I had to watch. Honestly, there’s nothing groundbreaking that he talked about it, unless you don’t know a lot about them, it is an interesting video to watch.

  1. These tops are made of tea towels - and they sell out fast - This is an interesting article about sustainability and upcycling. I love how the designer took something so unique and turned it into these incredible and innovative pieces. They truly are a work of art! Check out the article.

INSPIRATION

This week I am inspired by interior decorating. My husband and I are building a house and right now we are in the process of picking out doors, lights, floors… it’s really overhwhelming. I thought I was ready when this process came up but now that it’s here I am franticly freaking out a bit. Below is a pic from Adrian Grenier’s mother’s home in Brooklyn that he helped renovated in a an eco-friendly way. I absolutely love the modern windows and the warmth of the leather chairs and the bronze fixtures. I am definitely leaning towards this look for sure. I will link the article here so you can see the rest of the home.
