1 Dress, 3 Options
I love restyling items. I think I’ve written that sentence several times on my blog but it’s 100% the truth. As some of you might know, I have an online boutique called S.I.C. Couture and I am closing the store come August 31st, 2019 (a blog dedicated to why here the next few days). I have some original pieces still left from when I launched a few years ago and wanted to give them a revisit and restyle them. I think all of the pieces I designed have good classic feels. First up, I chose the “Christy”.
Back story the dress:
I designed it with my sister Christy in mind. She worked (and still does) for an attorney and wanted something she could wear to work but also wear casually on the weekend but still keeping to the S.I.C. Couture aesthetic. The dress was originally produced first in a red linen and is was successful so I brought it back a year later with a different fabric - ikat with a cotton lining to help with hot summer days. This was a fabric I scooped up at Mood Fabrics in NYC. A bit overpriced but well worth it. I loved scouring fabrics in the garment district.
1. I paired first with a fun sweater, a belt and my good ‘ole trusty vans. This is an outfit I’d wear on the weekend (when the weather gets cooler, of course) running errands or meeting a friend for lunch. Simple but chic.
2. Second way, I went a bit edgier - knee high boots, a short sleeve jacket and belted for a polished look. Something you could possibly wear to your job or heck even for a date night or a concert.
3. This one is a no-brainer way to style. Wedges, a denim jacket, and sunnies - simple but perfect for the weekend or an outdoor event (maybe change shoes to flats).
Hope you loved this post. Don’t forget S.I.C. Couture is closing August 31. Go check out the website! Thanks for stopping by!
